Brain Research UK Fellowship scheme is open for applications
We are pleased to invite applications for Post-doctoral fellowships and Clinical PhD fellowships from candidates working in our three priority research areas: headache and facial pain, neuro-oncology, and acquired brain and spinal cord injury.
Eligibility
Prospective post-doctoral candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, awarded or successfully defended by the application deadline. There is no upper or lower limit on the number of years’ post-doctoral experience but those who already have their own lab, or who hold, or have held, an equivalent competitive fellowship are not eligible to apply.
Clinical PhD candidates must hold a medical degree, with some post-graduate experience moving towards specialty training, or already have a training number and confirmation that they will be allowed out of programme.
Research remit
Fellowship applications must be based on a research proposal that addresses one of the three research themes above and must be for either pre-clinical or clinical research driven by a mechanistic hypothesis and demonstrating a clear pathway to translation; or the development of a biological model of disease that enhances one of the three research themes and facilitates translation.
Further informationThe deadline for applications is Wednesday 14th January 2026.
