I am an Honorary Consultant Otologist and hearing implant surgeon at Addenbrooke's Hospital. My research is translational and clinical, mostly relating to disorders of the ear and hearing. Current areas of interest include leading two large randomised controlled trials in the field of cochlear implants, and randomised controlled trials for tinnitus and sudden sensorineural hearing loss. I also collaborate on developing advanced therapies for hearing loss, and medical devices development for hearing protection and dysphagia. I am the Course Director for the University of Cambridge MPhil in Translating Advanced Therapy and Medical Device Research. I am happy to discuss opportunities for those seeking PhDs, particularly aligned with clinical trials and device development, whether from a clinical or non-clinical background.
