Research Participants Wanted (£10/hr) – Optimising Breathing Protocols for Virtual Reality Based-Biofeedback
The Health Neuroscience Lab in the Dept. of Psychiatry is looking for paid volunteers to take part in the study “Optimising Breathing Protocols for Virtual Reality Based-Biofeedback”. Participation will require you to attend an in-person session at Douglas House (18b Trumpington Road) where you will undergo a series of paced-breathing exercises administered through virtual reality. The session will last roughly 1-1.5 hours, and upon completion, you will be reimbursed £10/hr for your time and effort.
In order to be eligible to participate, you must:
– Be 18-50 years old.
– Have no significant history of cardiovascular, metabolic, or neurological disease.
– Have no history of major psychiatric illness (not including anxiety/depression).
– Have no recent use of medication exerting an effect on the cardiovascular or mental state.
– Not be pregnant.
– Not be a smoker.
– Have no recent alcohol or substance misuse.
